Life changer! We live in an old house and the heat definitely rose to the second floor.(100+ degree days in Sacramento) I had purchased a cheap box fan to put at the top of the stairs to draw the cool air up. It helped, But not much. This Turbo Fan is killing it this summer! The temperature degree difference between upstairs and downstairs is about 7 degrees instead of the 16 we were experiencing last year. Relief!
I had a similar Vornado fan that, after five years, blew out. I used it constantly and know Vornado is the top name in fans so I knew I wanted another one. My original model is no longer available so I bought this slightly bigger version and I love it! I keep it on along with my air conditioner and it makes my bedroom an absolute icebox! Perfect for the hot summer days that have already plagued NYC. Cannot recommend this highly enough!
I have owned two other Vornado fans for several years. They quietly provide excellent air circulation. I prefer using this type of fan in my bedroom to a ceiling fan since I can have the benefit of air circulation without it blowing directly on me. We have a small den (11'x10') that does not have wiring for a ceiling fixture and needed to have something to move the air. It sits in a corner pointed almost straight up to bounce air off ceiling. It is a size smaller than the other fans we use, but is a good size for the room. I am disappointed in that it is noisier than our other Vornados. This isn't a problem in the area I use it, but I wouldn't want it in my bedroom. The sound level from this one on low is about equal to the level of my older fans on medium or even high. The high setting, while moving a lot of air, is too noisy to even hold a conversation in the room. I don't know if this is a "feature" of the smaller fan or of the newer models.
To summarize, it's a great air mover, but it's loud enough that I would have reservations about using it in a bedroom.
This fan is small, but really moves air around well. This fan is best used sitting somewhere, not just pointed right at you. It circulates the air around the room.
Its a little louder than i would have preferred and a little bigger(as it was to replace my fiances nightstand can, however it looks to be made of high quality materials and definitely circulates the air. I'm probably going to freeze but I think he will be thrilled about it.

I bought this item out of my skepticism that it was really as good as people said it was. I was hesitant to spend 60+ on a fan, but thought I'd try just to see what I was missing. I have to say that I am impressed! The quality is great and it moves SO much air for a mid-size fan (with minimal noise). I am definitely happy with this purchase and will purchase more in the future!
My wife and I love this Vornado 630 portable fan. It’s not to big and not to small, just perfect size, and it has a lot of power, you can see the fan circulating the air. We are full time RVers and the heat in Florida is impossible to just count on your A/C... we bought our first Vornado 630 in Home Depot, it worked so well it kept the house cooler by 10 degrees in the the living area. So we decided to buy another Vornado for the bedroom. We keep both Vornado Fans running and it’s so cold I have to lower the A/C...
We try to save energy by setting the A/C to the high 70s during the 100+ summers every year so fans are an integral part of our house cooling plan, and all eight are made by Vornado. Like most Vornado fans, the medium and high settings will produce a nice level of white noise which does a great job drowning out the dogs moving around when we sleep (feet running in their sleep, feet scraping baseboards, collar clinking when the roll over, etc). It fits nicely on my large nightstand and the adjustable angle allows me to point the fan directly at me when sleeping. It also has a 5 year warranty, and Vornado will absolutely back their warranty - just provide the required information and they express ship you the replacement fan (2 days CONUS). I can't find the exact cfm specs on Vornado's web site, but a local hardware chain lists it as being 331 cfm on high. The days of 20 year fans are gone, but in my experience these hold up better then several other brands, move more air, have a better warranty, and only cost a little more to purchase...
So in our 80s fixer upper log house somehow our infants nursery ends up getting the least amount of AC. Eventually we have to get it all fixed but in the meantime we had been running the AC on 68- freezing the rest of us out AND going broke from our electricity bill. Insert this fan. Before even on 68 the nursery monitor above the crib read around 72. If we tried to keep the air on 70 it would read 75/76....too warm for baby. Now I leave the air on 70 and the temp reads 69/70 at night and around 72 during the day. ITS A MIRACLE. Also the white noise is fantastic for him (let's us turn down his other machine) and now my husband and I want several more for the rest of the house to keep our bills and the humidity down. Hallelujah.
Awesome fan. Quiet on low. No clicking noises whatsoever. Best performing fan brand ive ever owned highly recommend. It's the dyson without the 400$ price tag
Almost short of 2 years, its starting to make an electrical smell. Loved it. And the previous model we owned but at $70 would have hoped for longer than 2 years. Looking for any warranties now
Update ** 5 stars to 3 stars back to 5
I Contacted the manufacturer. Sent my Amazon order screenshot. They responded right away how to redeem the warrantee. (Cut power cord. send picture back of cut cord)
The smell went away so i waited another year. Next summer came and started smelling again so i decided to try redeeming it this time. I replied from the same email froob the previous year and they continued the warrantee process.
Week later they sent a new fan. Same model.
Great service. Glad i choose vornado
