Very easy to install the hot air exhaust hose using window adapter, and the continuous water drain hose into a 5 gallon plastic pail. In other words the setup after taking the a/c out of the box took about 15 minutes. Plugged the electrical cord in and pushed on the on/off button and the unit started right up, cold air was blowing out within 2 minutes. It is much quieter than I expected. The remote unit comes with 2 aaa batteries installed, and it is very easy to use. All in all the Ivation 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner is well designed and constructed, it's a super air conditioner. It is slightly smaller than the one we replaced, and we like the white color. The filter is on the back, and very easy to remove for cleaning. The instructions are easy to follow, and easy to read since it is printed on letter size paper. We have been using it for 3 days and are very pleased with it.
I live in Hawaii so my windows have glass shutters instead of a traditional sliding glass pane, so it made setting up the unit a little more complicated. Luckily my brother was able to help me rig the window piece in there, but when we originally hooked it up it was just blowing hot air. It was because the extendor panel was completely covering the venting hole. It seems that it’s just made like that? I don’t see how even on a regular window that it wouldn’t completely block the air flow, but I could definitely be wrong. In the end we had to snap the extendor in half so the hole wasn’t covered. Once we did that, it worked great!! My house is old and the walls are paper thin with no insulation at all, and the unit still cools my room down significantly within 10-20 minutes. As far as noise goes, it’s significantly quieter than my last unit I purchased, and I think that anyone complaining about the noise is just expecting too much out of a portable ac unit lol. Overall I’m very happy with the purchase!

A little noisy and maybe not quite as capable at cooling the area it's advertising. But overall very pleased with the unit.
I love this guy. It’s quieter than my old one that died (don’t get me wrong, it still makes noise), it’s user friendly, it doesn’t take up much real estate in my tiny house, and the casters are smooth. Thank you so much!
Reviews seem to range widely. My personal experience with this unit running it for 2 years now can maintain a 250 sq foot room about 10 degrees colder than outside with an open door way to same size room with no ac doesn’t really cool the adj room much, but wasn’t expecting it to. Placing it a stand makes draining the condensate easy, an old beer bottle works get to fit near the drain holes and drain once a week. Would not buy if you plan on putting it in a bed room, great for common areas. Noise level about the same as box fan on high speed.
Got it yesterday, plugged in the hose, vented it out a window, plugged it in and put batteries in remote, very nice indeed! Will buy again for my shed!
