It was easy enough to install, directions were confusing though. Not enough pictures/diagrams.. I ended up not using the grill they say you MUST use.. I already had a sleeve and grill that came with the apartment. So i just added some of the foam.pieces not all. The unit i got came a little damaged.. The filters are warped and not fitting correctly i had to struggle to get them in and sitting correctly and are hard to get in and out because of said warping.. and there is a metal bar inside that also looks warped/bent... I installed anyway cause i didnt wanna be without AC... The AC works really well, however it smells so bad. Its been a week now and the smell has not gotten any better. I have a scented wax melter in the room/ air wick.plug in on max/ car vent air freshners on max and a bunch of fabric softner sheets on the AC and the stench overpowers all of it and lingers on everything.
I can't say for sure its the AC but i can say the Ac i replaced didnt stink like this, so i dont know if this unit is just working really well and there is something in the wall that stinks or the unit it self smells horrible only when its on. i'm hoping with time it gets better but its been two weeks and its worse than ever
I have a warranty so perhaps i will ask for a replacement but dont want the hassle. Just wish they sent me a unit that doesnt have issues.
I like the aesthetic of the unit. I like that it works well, it cools well. very appropriate for the BTU that I required. it shipped to my door in less than a week. comes with all the necessary amenities. it wasn't that hard to installed however, to save on time, I wished there was a video that accompany the instructions or even better pictures on the manual. if you have a handy person, its better because you want to make sure that the unit lines up evenly. but overall, perfect!
