Vornado 133 Compact Air Circulator

Vornado 133 Compact Air Circulator Fan

Vornado 133 Compact Air Circulator Fan

This is a decent little fan. Mine ran for about 4 years nonstop then suddenly just quit. Fortunately they have a 5 year warranty.
You can expect this fan to make rattling noise when you turn it on but it will go away after a while. I suggest skipping this fan and getting the larger model, the 660, which is an amazing fan. It moves more air on slow speed than the 133 moves on high.
Like I said fortunately it has a 5 year warranty. I called Vornado and they offered a free replacement. I asked if I could have credit toward a bigger model and they gave me a great credit toward the 660 which I took.
And I am glad I did. I won't write a review about it on Amazon because I got it direct from Vornado.
But I highly recommend the Vornado 660 over the 133.

Most fans spray air out the front in a fashion not unlike a lawn sprinkler. Everything in front of it gets some and in 3 feet the air movement is lost all its speed and direction. Vornado fans have always put out a solid stream of air that stays cohesive for quite a way. Not whisper quiet but on low its gentle white noise, not distracting to me. I have a L shaped desk, I point it directly at my computer monitor and the air spills off that and ruffles loose papers on the left side of the desk, never directly blowing on me. I prefer it above all other fan types, including those crazy fan-less air hoop thingys.

This fan/air circulation has smooth operation. Was replacing a fan in a child's room who can't sleep without some slight noise. This does the trick and does help to circulate the air around and it can be position in multiple positions including directly up at the ceiling. My children thought it was great as it can suspend a balloon in the air for a while when pointed just right - they discovered this by accident of course.

I purchased this fan a couple of months ago when time came to stop using the air conditioner for the year, and I found I needed relief from the hot flashes I've started having at night. The bedroom gets stuffy, and despite having a ceiling fan, more air movement was needed to keep me happy and sane in the wee hours of the morning when my inner furnace tends to get stuck on "high" and become disruptive to my husband and whatever cats are contributing to the heat misery by sleeping on my feet.

This fan has been the perfect solution. It is small, lightweight, and just right for my nightstand. The base is short and wide enough to provide stability despite the aforementioned cats. There are only two settings - high and low - but that's all you need. The head swivels and adjusts easily, and it quietly moves a LOT of air.

Also, "Vornado" is a fun name.

This little fan really is directional. Small enough to take with me when I travel by car. Had another one of their models in a marine environment on a boat and it was on for months at a time ventilating fiberglass sanding dust. I even think it has epoxy dripped on it. Has lots of thin vents everywhere to clean, but that’s part of the design. Will buy another when this one expires ...but don’t known when that will be.

I've purchased three of the slightly larger cousins of this fan over the past few years two of which lasted for about 3 years then the motors seized up. I'd originally purchased the larger ones to circulate air in an apartment that does not have air conditioning. It turns out that I didn't need that much power in my living room (I kept the fan on low or medium) so, when that fan died a couple of days ago I decided to go with the less expensive model. It is about $20 cheaper and the trade-off is that it definitely does push air around the way the others did. but it works okay. Hoping that it will last at least as long as it's more formidable cousins.

I am a Caregiver for an 86 year old lady who has Alzheimer's and temperature correlations don't seem to reach her brain anymore -hot/cold, inside/outside, upstairs/downstairs or winter/summer. One day it was 90 degrees outside and because she was in the basement, where it's cooler. She came upstairs to TURN ON THE HEAT! I was literally DYING. I would turn off the heat and turn on the AC and she would come back up and put the heat on, so - I bought this fan to save my life. :)

It's a great little fan for personal use! I sit it on the table 12 inches from me - on low and it's just perfect. Plenty of air for me! The tilt on it didn't work initially. It wouldn't stay where I put, so I just tightened the little screws on the pivot and that fixed it. We had a larger Vornado for years until my son broke it. They are made very well. They are getting a LOT more expensive though from when I bought the larger one many, many years ago. $30 for this little fan is a lot, but it works and I NEEDED it. If you need a "personal" fan, I highly recommend this one.

I bought this fan for the screened porch, which has a terrazzo floor that heats up during the day, then cools off at night, forming a light condensation which contributes to mildew. I needed something to move air across the floor to keep everything dry. This little fan works perfectly. There is a simple, large rotary switch on the back with three settings: Off, High, and Low. On high speed, the fan does make a sound, but it is not unpleasant, and you could easily carry on a conversation nearby. On low speed, the sound is barely noticeable. It is so efficient on low that I see little use for changing it. The fan housing swivels so that air can be directed upward if necessary. This fan works well for the job it was intended to do, which is move air in a small room. I've only used it for a few days, so I can't speak for dependability over a long period of time.

This little guy really moves the air!!! Living in an RV, there tends to be hotspots in the place. However, after getting this fan, it keeps the whole place very comfortable all day, without having the fan blowing directly on us. We put it over a floor vent, and it keeps the place cooler, and cools it down faster. And what is really great is that it is so quiet!! Our other fans made so much noise, it interfered with TV, and music. This little fan sits in the corner and we forget it is on.

I purchased for my new dog rescue (Mickey), she gets hot when she's having anxiety and she doesn't like loud noises (or any annoying noise). This fan is a lot more tolerable to her senses, although it's not silent (I knew that) it is much quieter than her other 2 fans. It doesn't rattle or have a high pitch whine. it puts out a decent amount of air. I will probably purchase the next size up for her for camping.
