Great for 14' Travel Trailer. In three days, the water container was half full. It made living in the camper bearable. With the A/C running full time, there was 98% humidity without the unit. After running this for 3 days non stop it was more or less around 70%. The first day it was able to be 55% and then the camper got hotter (outdoor temp was 85 degrees) and my breathing in (I cooked outside and showered in the camp showerhouse) it gradually maintained around 70%. At night it was more stable around 65 to 70%. I am very happy with the results. Without this unit it was unbearable using the trailer. I was more comfortable with this unit. It's lightweight and uses very little space.
I live in Arkansas in an old Victorian home that was converted into small apartments. The weather in Arkansas can get brutally humid and the air in my bedroom has always felt heavy and stale (a fan didn't help at all). After several years of living there, I started noticing mildew spots that were concerning me. Cleaning them up was only going to be a temporary solution so I did some research and purchased the Ivation dehumidifier, which was listed on several reviews as being one of the best and was definitely the best buy for the money. I really thought I needed a bigger one but, frankly, I wasn't about to pay the high prices. I figured whatever this dehumidifier could do was better than nothing. Needless to say, I didn't have real high expectations.
The first thing I noticed was that the look of it is pretty sleek and it turned out to be the perfect size for the spot I needed it in. I didn't really notice any difference in the air quality until the next morning... but, Wow... what a difference. The soft hum of the machine lulled me to sleep and for the first time in a long time I slept like a rock. The air literally felt lighter that next morning (even my dog slept in). The dishrag smell was gone, too. I couldn't believe it. I've had it for about a month now and I absolutely love it. I just keep it on because it turns itself off once it reaches the relative humidity I set it for (I'm originally from California, so I keep mine set to 45% RH).
It may be important to note that it doesn't cool down the room any (but I never expected it to). It does, however, makes the heat bearable now that I'm not wearing the weather.
I honestly can't imagine living without it now.
I like this unit, you just have to have the right expectations. This is not a whole house dehumidifier. I have an open concept home and put it in the largest area which is about 1,000 sq ft. I live is SW Georgia so summers are long, hot and humid. This unit takes out enough humidity that I could raise the temperature on my a couple degrees. The house is just more comfortable with it running. It also helped the dust levels.
The one thing I don't like is that you can't take the top of the water tank off. So getting it completely empty and keeping it really clean is harder. I'd be more comfortable if I could remove the top, empty it out and give the tank a good scrubbing.
The higher the humidity level the better this unit works. When you get to about 55% humidity it basically stops working. If you're trying for "not a swamp" it's dandy. If you want "dry as dust" get a unit with a compressor.
Am using this for a very small area in the basement, and it works fine. Had to rig up a hose for it, but that seems to work fine (drilled a hole in the tank and added a hose barb and hose). This only works in small spaces, there is not enough cooling to take out large amounts of water from the air. Good on power also (low power draw).

Description
Please note this is a SMALL area Paltier dehumidifier that's only 13.8 inched high. If you need a dehumidifier for larges areas than please look for Compressor dehumidifiers.
This isn't a watered-down version of a bigger dehumidifier - it's a highly effective mid-size machine in its own right, built around the powerful and whisper-quiet Peltier technology. Peltier technology works with no moving parts, so we managed to design our dehumidifier as a compact appliance: small, lightweight, low on energy consumption, powerful, effective at drying up musty rooms, and, with all that, a long lifespan.
Suited for Small Spaces of Up to 100 Square Feet, our mid-size dehumidifier is the perfect tool to extract moisture and dust particles from stagnant areas and mildew- and mold-stricken rooms. From bathrooms to laundry rooms to bedrooms to antique cars to boats, it rids the air of mustiness and unpleasant odors while quietly pulling in excess humidity at a rate of up to 25 ounces per day at 86° Fahrenheit and 80% relative humidity.
Another advanced function is the auto humidistat. Dehumidifiers without a humidistat work hard non-stop even if RH levels drop as low as 20%. This wastes energy and wears out the power adapters. With the humidistat function, you can set your desired relative humidity level in the range of 40%-80%. When RH levels increase beyond your set level by a value of 5%, the machine automatically turns on. When RH levels decrease below your set level by a value of 5%, the machine automatically turns off. Default setting is 50% RH.
A removable water reservoir with a capacity of two full liters spares you the hustle of emptying out an overflowing water tank every day. It can hold approximately 2.5-days' worth of dehumidifying action. It is also programmed to shut off automatically once it has reached capacity. An indicator light will go on to remind you to empty the tank out.
The operating instructions are easy to follow. The moisture extraction is relatively slow; but the unit uses much less power than the larger units. I like the fact that the humidity set-point can be set on the unit so it does not necessarily run continuously.
I never actually saw this product in action, but from what I hear, it did its job.
I had to sell a house long distance. According to our reator, the basement got really humid during some of the worst summer months. Little sections of mold started to grow. I ordered this and had it shipped to the house. A neighbor was nice enough to set this up, wash the walls, and empty it every so often.
That was the end of the humidity complaints and the house sold just about a month later.
I bought it for ~$100, and it's listed for $85 now. It was still money well spent.
I bought this unit for my bedroom, only 200sq feet, but I live 2 city blocks from the ocean so it gets pretty humid during the summer months. I use to have a traditional type of dehumidifier with a compressor, Delonghi. The traditional compressor dehumidifier sucks up moisture really fast compare to this one, but they also suck up electricity and noisy and heavey. This machine is 1/3 of the price of my old dehumidifier, less than 1/10 of the noise, less than a third of the size, and without a compressor I am sure electricity is less too. I like the humidity sensor so it turns off by itself. It does not reduce moisture fast, but its good enough for what I need.
The de humidifier arrived on time and for a small unit it seems to doing the job. I placed it for now on the living room floor. We have carpeting so I placed the rectangular a/c adapter on a small porcelain plate for added safety. When the unit is running the adaptor does seem warmer than I am accustomed to. The instructions mentioned after adjusting desired relative humidity, a light will blink 10 times but it only blinks 5 times.
This Dehumidifier is in my basement that I just remodeled and had carpeted. I noticed a dampness and that prompted my purchase, in the first week I dumped almost a half a bucket of water out of its trap. And there is a noticeable difference in the moisture level. Thanks again Amazon for yet another winner!
