We’ve had a couple unseasonably warm days here and decided we needed an AC sooner than later. We ordered this Honeywell unit because it’s a great price for the square footage it covers (up to 350 square feet).
And it seems great so far for our living/dining room, it’s more streamlined than other units we’ve seen so it doesn't take up much space. We tested all the settings, even though it’s still cold here, and it got noticeably cooler pretty quickly in our living room.
Set up couldn't have been easier, even with a nosy dog poking around. The box came with clear instructions for unboxing. All of the necessary set up accessories were included—including batteries for the remote and the right size window venting piece for the sliding style windows we have. The pieces fit easily together. It took only about 10 minutes to fully install.
This is an AC unit so there is going be some noise when it’s running but nothing I’d consider intrusive. It's much quieter than your standard old fashioned window unit. The fan and dehumidifier functions do appear to be quieter.
We just had a 6 day heatwave in Massachusetts. Bought this (2)last week because I couldn’t take it after 3 days.
I don’t like air conditioners as a rule- but I couldn’t breathe.
My house was over 100 degrees when it arrived around 2 pm. My 16 year old daughter was able to carry them upstairs and set them up on her own.
By the time I came home around 4, my room was cool and comfortable. I finally was able to get a good night sleep.
Noise level is lower than that of a 5 star air conditioned hotel room.
It didn’t bother me at all. I live in rural Massachusetts and we don’t have any outside city noise. We are used to quiet.
Fan only has two speeds, low and high. Both are tolerable to sleep with. Unlike the window unit we had, you barely hear the cooling unit kick on. This really is a quiet unit, probably on low it would be equal to a ceiling fan on high.
This was shipped from California and it arrived without a scratch, kudos to UPS.
Update: Have run this now for about 20 days problem free. Today the filter light came, removed the filters wiped them down and reinstalled them. I've included a short video of the unit in operation. Hopefully it helps with noise level questions.
This portable a/c is well designed and is attractive to the eye. If you have never installed an A/C, this unit will be the easiest you ever install. It literally took more time to take it out of the box than to install it. This 8,000 BTU unit is perfect for my small NYC studio apartment. In Manhattan most buildings require that you hire a professional a/c installer when installing a window a/c, this usually starts at $150 dollars, that's money I did not have to spend when I bought and installed this unit myself. The a/c is small in size and has wheels meaning you can move it easily and place it in the most convenient space in your studio.
I got this, instead of a second AC in my RV. Easy install, works great, and I can use it as a dehumidifier. I highly recommend this unit.

Very easy to place in my very nice storm window. Works with my screen in place. Easy to move around on the bedroom carpet. Like the two speeds. Cools room pretty quickly. Remote is great. Very compact and neat little unit. Wish the cooling vents were a little more flexible. The vent tube is sensitive. I don't move it around a lot. It works well under my window. Although you can pull the tube out it still doesn't go too far. I wouldn't want to pull it too much as it could dislodge from the back. Still very easy set up with fantastic video tutorial. Even this un-mechanically inclined woman had no problem putting window plates up, covering the air around the window and setting the hose up. Directions are easy and I remember to wait a while before turning it back on. Very pleased with this purchase. I know it will be a great thing to have in the middle of summer.
The 10,000 BTU Honeywell portable air conditioner was the perfect choice for the smaller bedroom in my 2br apartment. This thing absolutely cranks! The digital temp control and thermostat make it ideal for energy saving. It is powerful enough and regulates the temperature well enough for me to be able to set up my grow tent for the summer as well. Being in Boston, we do not need it everyday. So, on the cooler nights, having the option to be able to easy remove and open your window is really nice. I had to carry the box from my office to my garage (a city block) and then from my parking spot to my apartment (another block). It was really heavy but manageable for a 6’2” 230 lb former marine, but I wouldn’t suggest anyone elderly try to lift it. Once out of the box though, the thing glides effortlessly on those wheels. Which is ideal for anyone needing to move it from room to room.
This is my first review ever. I’ve been looking for a replacement portable AC for a few months. After looking at this unit repeatedly I finally took a chance. My main concern for all the units was the window venting kit. This unit advertises as a 4’ hose. I would say the hose is a little less than 4’. I have about 2” to spare. As you can see from the picture I have a high window. Anyway it fits just fine. Such an easy installation compared to my last unit. I have the AC set at 65 and my room is freezing cold. Granted, it’s not summer, but my first impression is I made a good choice. The noise level is average. On low fan it’s not very noticeable. I don’t mind white noise so it depends if your preference. The unit is compact and doesn’t take up a lot of room. The power cord s over 5’. I’ll update my review if anything changes.
Nice unit, well packaged. Very easy to install. I have 46" tall horizontal sliding windows and the included window kit fit perfectly, there is a small gap at the sides of the extenders but I fitted the window vent adapter with 1/2" foam pipe insulation, cost less than $4 (see pictures). The unit is cooling a 10'x11' bedroom. I measured the sound level with a sound pressure level meter at 56dBA on low speed and 60dBA on high speed with the compressor running. Unit is working very well so far and wife is super happy with how well it cools the room and how quiet it is. WOW! This isn't the first unit I've put in but this one is by far the very easiest. I've always needed an extra pair of hands but I had it installed in less than 15 minutes. The window it fits in is an east facing window and at 83deg at 10am I'm so very grateful. It has brought the temp in this room down to 73 already....less than 10 minutes. I love being able to direct the air flow up or down. The window mount is of great heavy duty quality. I didn't have to do much to secure the slide for a nice tight fit....and I didn't have to use duct tape to keep it in place. I'm so glad I made this purchase. THANK YOU!
