I read all the reviews from dissatisfied buyers and so I had my reservations about this but bought it just the same. We have a 29 foot Gulfstream Cavalier ( old FEMA ) trailer we use as a camp in the national forest. It tends to stay humid and musty inside if it has been closed up for weeks on end. A couple years ago we started hanging 3 Damp-Rid bags inside and that helped tremendously. But we needed to replace them every 2 weeks at ~ $10 a pop for 3 bags . They work but I decided to look for a cost saving alternative and thus the reason I tried this. I do not know if the people who had bad experiences got defective units, were a little impatient, or didn't use them correctly but the one I got works fine. I will say I did let it set up right for at least a half an hour before plugging it in. That is something I was always taught to do with air conditioners, fridges, etc,. so that the oil in the compressors could settle out. I figured this had some sort of refrigeration unit and so treated it the same way. Anyways, I put this right on the kitchen counter AND as a litmus test I hung 3 brand new damp-rid bags in the trailer as well. I wanted to see which collected the most water. Surprisingly enough this unit did. As a matter of fact the damp-rid bag right next to the unit did not collect one drop of water. The unit over the weekend collected maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 a cup which doesn't sound like much, but we were running the heater, and the only one of the 3 damp-rid bags collected any water ( about 2-3 tablespoons full ). So, for the moment I am sold on this unit. I plan to drill into the collection tank and attach a hose so that I can let it run full time when we are gone and have the water go directly into the sink drain and not fill up the tank. I also plan to devise some sort of solar fan set up to move the air around so that moist air in other rooms or parts of the trailer has a chance to go by the unit. If it works the way I hope I will give it 5 stars, if it doesn't live up to my realistic expectations I will adjust the stars accordingly and update my review. So, my suggestion is to give the thing a try. You are protected with being able to send it back. Do let the unit sit upright where you plan to use it for 15 minutes or more before plugging it in.....and if you want to see how efficient it is...hang a damp-rid bag near it.
I got this for the bathroom to remove moisture after showering. It has made a noticeable difference and the mirrors and windows dry much faster. It is early spring in Georgia, but it is probably filling up the tank in about 48 hours of use (it's supposed to be turned on for 12 hours and on up to 12 hours, apparently). When the humidity zooms up into the 90-plus percentage it probably will fill the small reservoir in 30 or so hours of use, I'm guessing.
It is basically soundless, but it is effective for a small room or closet.
I am happy with the purchase and may buy another one for use in another small-space situation.
I received this dehumidifier on Monday afternoon around 2 o'clock and immediately read the instructions and plugged it up and let it start working. It took until Friday afternoon of the same week to fill the container full enough to where it cut off. I would estimate the room at around 100 square feet to 150 square feet. I don't know the humidity of the room, but I run a pedicure station in this room with hot water so there should be a lot of humidity in the air. This unit seems to work like it's supposed to and is very quiet. I would recommend this.
This little humidifier really works! In the colder months with the heat on, we had quite a bit of condensation in our bathroom. This thing fills up in 2 days. Every morning the shower and bathtub are dry (before they were constantly wet). I believe it's cut down on mold, mildew and definitely moisture. Great for small spaces and fits on the counter without sacrificing much space! We've recommended it to several friends.
This unit is quiet and seems to work good. The power brick (a pretty small brick) heats up a little, but not so much that I'm even remotely concerned about fire. I was hoping it would reduce obvious condensation for items out the refrigerator and/or freezer, but after running for about two weeks and draining the tank few times, there is no OBVIOUS difference. Also a nearby humidity gauge has not budged noticeably yet. I still like the unit because it's unobtrusive and removing some moisture seems better than doing nothing.

although the dimensions were listed on the description i was quite surprised at the very compact size... nevertheless the product performed well... i use this in my basement to reduce the amount of humidity that is carried into the larger house... it does not perform as well as a larger machine with more horsepower would but for the price and size i was satisfied with the performance
I've got this installed in a 49 Cubic Foot refrigerator. I dump the water resolver every 3 days. It dose a good job. I also am controlling it with a AGPtek® WH8040 Digital Air Humidity Controller wired up to an outlet that this dehumidifier plugs into. Together they work great.
Both took over 2 weeks to be delivered from when ordered. Worst time I've ever seen from any Amazon sub-companies.
Small, very quiet. So far is working in the basement room and doing a great job. Have read reviews on much larger models and find they only last about as long as these models. I have had 2 other brands (they all look similar) both were noisier. One lasted 2 years, the other a year. Not sure how long this one will last but so far satisfied with the job. The room is about 16x20 and moisture is a problem in our basement.
Living in Japan, we've discovered that the houses, even on a military base are prone to mold. This pocket dehumidifier works great in our master bedroom closet, which had the mold problem. We'll be ordering a second, bigger one for our son's room which is the current mold problem area.
I bought this little unit for my walk-in closet. I live in an extremely humid state and I noticed that my closet always had a damp/musty smell. I plugged this dehumidifier in and saw results within 24hours. I have to empty the reservoir every other day, and it's extremely quiet. I will definitely be purchasing a larger model for my bedroom.
