The bad:
the water lasts only a few hours if it's on the lowest setting, the second setting it lasts only an hour or so.
the water is in the bottom compartment and if you try and move it the water can slosh out and spill
The WORST thing about this (and the worst in my opinion) it DOES NOT turn off after the water runs out, the light just blinks.
the good:
it gets COLD fast
There are 2 settings both are good and the air flow is decent
The BEST thing is that if you put a fan behind it the air flow is great and it helps to push the cooler air out into the room!! :D
I got this because I didn't want to pay for an AC unit... and I got it for 63 bucks at Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon.
After reading the reviews, I felt compelled to write my own. I am sitting in front of mine right now at 8:37 am after filling it last night at 11 pm still going on low. It lasts all night if you fill it correctly, which I'm guessing others have not. You need to fill the reservoir then TIP IT A BIT and the water goes down so you can fill it more. This thing is perfect for people without a/c who just need cool air to sleep! I love it! In fact, there are times at night where I have to turn it off because I'm too cold; and that's on the low setting! This little guy does exactly what it's supposed to do. I was skeptical at first because the day we bought it was extremely humid, and it seemed like the air it produced was just a weak, tepid stream. So if you live in high humidity this might not be for you. The rest of you should just get it! Love my little chiller. :)
I purchased this for our computer room as our rigs produce a lot of heat and the room is a good 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. It works great for me as I have it sitting on a bookshelf about two feet away and pointed directly at me. It should be used like a fan instead of thinking it will cool a room. It's a very "personal" size A/C
I live in Hawaii where it is very humid. These last 3 summers have just been brutally hot/humid and most locals don't have AC, including us. I tried a small dehumidifier which didn't do anything and then I saw this product but didn't have very high expectations. I have to say that I am very impressed! It has been such a huge help to me. I'm not sure how much it would help cool off a room, but I have it on a table right next to me where I work (only like 12 inches away) and have it blow directly on me and it has really made a difference in helping me cool off a little. I am so glad I found it.
This little AC unit is perfect for my office desk. My office gets upwards of 85F degrees in the winter because of the sun and the heat. It is very uncomfortable. I decided to give this little unit a try, and it works very well! I recommend it to anybody looking to cool off at their desk. This would not cool an entire room. It works as expected and is very quiet.

Although this runs off of AC power, it does not require so much that it drains your RV battery.
The unit requires water and puts out a very nice cool breeze on low quiet setting. on higher setting its even colder. It is primary for small personal space, so more than one may be required. The cost is more than worth it. Most RVers have major issues with hacking the AC unit in that it is either very loud or will not run without being connected to shore power.
a word of caution, when moving the small unit after putting water in it, keep it flat so the water won't spill out everywhere. Awesome product. Thank God!
This guy is small but works well in small spaced.
I have had
this for almost a year, and it has been life saver. If you work in an office where people have access to the thermostat and like to make it warm year round, you need to buy this personal cooler. I used it a lot this winter as well, and with the dry air, this puts a little humidity into the air around you as well.
I'm going to get a second unit for summer time at home in the office.
You don’t want to be a weirdo. You don’t mean to be annoying. But holy God, it’s a million degrees in here! All these crazy people are dressed for Siberia and looking at you funny and YES, it IS just you, so you can’t turn down the heat even though you’re suffocating.
Or you wake up in the middle of the night and the insane person next to you has stolen all the blankets and THANK GOD FOR THAT because it is a flippin’ oven in here and you’re sweating unto dehydration.
Yeah, me too. But I am the hormonal weirdo no more (well... you know what I mean) because seriously, this thing rocks!
Now, don’t get all excited. Set your expectations.
This is a PERSONAL air conditioner. It is intended to cool your person, and it does.
This is NOT a ROOM air conditioner. It is NOT intended to cool the whole room, and it does not.
If you want to cool the whole room, buy a portable room air conditioner. Do not buy this product and then leave a bad review saying “This product did not do what it was not intended to do!”
That’s like yelling at your cat for not playing fetch. Meanwhile, your cat is looking at you like “Yes? Can I help you?” Which you totally deserve. Because, come on. Cat.
Conclusion:
If you are constantly baking hot, yes, this will help and is absolutely worth the price, buy one immediately and be happy.
So I needed something to keep me cool when I am playing video games or working from my desk. This thing is PERFECT. it is very small and really does blow cool air at you for a good 4 hours straight. One issue is PLEASE beware not to tip it AT ALL when picking it up with water inside. It will spill everywhere. This is not in the directions. Other than that is it terrific.
