I purchased the small and medium fan. They are both so close in size and didn't know which to pick. The small has 2 speeds, the Medium has 3. The lowest speed will most likely not be used because it's too low and equivalent to someone standing next to you and blowing in your face...
The small fan is great for a small space where the fan will hit you directly - like a desk. The larger one is only a tad more powerful but will do a better job circulating air in a small room. I posted photos of the small and medium fan side by side for comparison. Also - The color of the fan is lovely but not as bright as seen in the photos. It has a more vintage mint green color, not as bright as in photos.

Bought two of the green "seniors" in August of this year.
They blend well with some 40's/50, rattan furniture I managed to acquire (always wanted the old tropical mid-century look and my dear long suffering wife finally gave in).
When they first arrived they worked beautifully, heavily built and impressively made. The creamy green color was perfect for my cushions.
Problem note: After about a week of use one developed a "tick", like something being loose or caught in the fan. A kind person had reported here that one of his had also had this issue.
Being an old retired nerd I managed to avoid taking the fan apart after visually inspecting if with a flashlight as I knew Amazon would quickly replace the product and I did not wish to jeopardize their excellent warranty, but being a car/boat kind of guy I had to at least try to see if it was something easy with my problem as the fans were so well built and it appeared nothing was loose.
So I decided to use the ol' method of 'place the unit on full speed' in the living room overnight and wait to see if it fixed itself, just in case it had inadvertently 'eaten' something (fly, bug, twig, etc..) and would eventually finish it off.
About 8-11 hours later (not very scientific, sorry) I noticed I was in the living room with flowing air and no ticking noise. I write this in December and they have both been used daily (I am quite fond of flowing air) and they are as attractive and quiet as day one.

Stylish- I live where it is consistently over 100 degrees all summer long- we NEED fans. Most fans are really ugly, take up a bunch of room, and clash with the rest of the house. Not this! It is adorable- retro style, pretty soft white- I actually WANT to see this fan.
Effective- this is quite small, I got it for my home office and I have only used it on the 2 lowest settings and I've stayed more than comfortable all day
Noise- this is so quiet! It's a dream. I work from home and so a loud fan is annoying all day (especially on conference calls). This fan is super effective while remaining relatively effective
Sturdy- This is heavy and well made. It doesn't bounce around or rattle or anything. It feels substantial and I hope to have it for years and years
Made in Kansas- ok, this one is personal, but I am from Kansas and I appreciate that this is made in a relatively small town in Kansas
Only negative: it isn't cheap. But, because of the design and quality, I am considering more of these and some of the standing ones as well. Since we have to use fans in the house for at least 5 months of the year, it seems like a worthy investment.
I NEVER write reviews but I'm so happy about this purchase that I had to share because it took me so long and so many returns to find something that works! I finally purchased this fan after reading the reviews. Not only did this have great reviews on Amazon but on the Target website this fan has 5 out of 5 stars which is what initially caught my eye. So naturally I decided to check it out on Amazon and decided to order it. I live in CA Bay Area and this summer has been getting over 100. My house doesn't have AC so I've been using a few fans (swamp fan & Honeywell powercool fan) but neither of them circulate the airflow leaving the house still extremely hot where the fans aren't pointing toward even when it has cooled down outside. I purchased this fan and set it in front of the widow in my living room along with one of my old fans on the opposite end of the room and within 15 minutes the room was cooler. I could feel the airflow from the vornado from across the room. It seriously does its job as described! I also could feel the airflow from the living room coming down my hallway to the bedrooms. The reviews were right and I'm extremely happy I made this purchase. I have a swamp cooler fan that you put ice in and it doesn't even compare to the airflow the vornado provides! It's pricey but well worth the money. I spent over $200 on my other two worthless fans when I could of purchased two of these that work wonders. The extra perk is that this fan is made of metsl and has a nice vintage look. I bought the cream one to match mybdecor. I would highly reccomend this fan to anyone!
This little fan is a true gem. We have always had a ceiling fan in our room, which is paramount for a good nights rest! We recently moved into a super small space and I sacrificed my beloved ceiling fan for a rad light fixture. And I have slept like crap since. I have always loathed the look of tabletop fans, but this one is friggin adorable. AND IT WORKS!!!I have it on my dresser across from my bed and most night we use "setting 2" and its more than enough. I have read past reviews that state that "setting 1" is worthless, but I disagree. It definitely still circulates air through our entire room. I would absolutely recommend this little cutie!

I got the medium sized fan and it was smaller than I expected so pay attention to the measurements. That said, it really doesn't matter because this thing is amazing. I have a smaller sun room/office room in my home that takes the full brunt of the afternoon sun and really heats up. I put this fan on a shelf in the dining room to blow the cooler air from there into the sun room and it made an instant difference. Now the room feels great and my daughter spends more time in there after school. It looks great (in a soft white) and blends in with my home decor so I don't mind having it sitting out all the time. It's very quiet too, just a calming hum on the highest setting. Very happy with this purchase.
I'm always hot whenever I am at home (and my wife is always cold) so the solution for me is to have a fan on whenever I sleep or relaxing. I've used cheap plastic fans for the majority of my life but recently my wife saw this Vornado and we decided to try it out.
Looks: It looks great and is not an eyesore
Build quality: Fantastic build quality, far superior to the plastic fans I've used over the years. Very heavy and sturdy.
Fan speed: Moves a TON of air when you need to and also great at low setting
Noise: This is a big plus in my opinion, the fan itself does not make a lot of noise considering how much air it moves on High speed. Much quieter than my other fans.
This is only a tad bigger than the VFAN Jr but a lot pricier. The fan itself looks good, the air speed is pretty much the same as the Jr, but I guess the slightly larger size makes it look better if you are putting this on the floor. It's a bit too big for the counter. It's a good quality and good looking fan, just wish it can rotate... air only blows one way. So 5 stars for looks, but only 3 stars for function... overall 4 stars.
I don't have a quiet meter but in my opinion this is a very quiet fan. It blows the amount of air a fan of this size should but it is not a hard hurricane force blowing fan nor a floor fan. I recommend it as a counter fan used in a smaller room. It appears to be high quality. When the fan is cut off the blades continue to rotate for a little while proving very free moving motor components. The metal construction and paint job is awesome. I recommend this to anyone in a smaller room, needing a countertop fan, wanting a classy and quality fan. I like a lot of air circulated in a room so I can not recommend this fan as a medium to larger room fan. I really like this fan. It has personality and function.
I've noticed the "whirring" noise that some of the other reviewers have described. The noise isn't very noticeable unless you're paying close attention, so it doesn't bother me. This fan does a great job of circulating the air. Compared to my old Honeywell fan of similar size, I would say the Honeywell gave a more powerful "direct" gust of air, while this fan does a better job of circulating air around the room. Not to mention, it's super stylish!
