Greatest fan I've ever owned. Used it for two years 24/7 in spring, summer, and fall. It is my fan to keep my rabbits cool. For those two years, it was used outside without cover in all weather, through severe thunderstorms and high heat. Now it's in a dusty, furry barn and still runs like a champ 24/7. I only recently took it apart to clean but that's because a mouse had found its way into the fan and discovered death. If this fan ever dies, I will buy another one. I've never seen another fan put up with so much abuse and not show signs of wear. Get one!
UPDATE:
Still the greatest fan ever! I've owned it for 4 years now and it still runs nearly 24/7. I recently cleaned it out and was amazed that it was still functioning with all the dirt, dust, and fur in it.
Although I've trusted this brand before, I cannot recommend this product. It certainly does not "fully" circulate the air, as I was to believe. Now - as to its durability - I'd had it on a chair. My dogs had knocked it over onto carpet. As shown in the picture - the "stand" - the plastic piece that supports the fan - was broken off. Not just knocked off - this was broken off (little plastic pieces). Now I cannot stand the fan up, it just wants to roll around. Very disappointing.
***UPDATE: Vornado's excellent customer service sent me a new base. While I still question the stands "structural ability," I am pleased with the end result. I am happier to report, that if you do have an issue, you will likely be able to resolve it with Vornado.
I have had at least one Vornado fan since 1996 and the first was similar to this model, gray in color and with screw type wheels to adjust airflow direction up or down. Curiously I would set the direction in precisely the angles built into the frame of this one! Clever of Vornado to know its typical use.
After 20 years the first one no longer worked so I tried to get along with using the model 630 I have to move air in my small [ under 1000 sq. ft. ] aluminum house on wheels. The 630 needed to be on its high setting to meet my expectation, but its really not designed to be used in a large area. I find these Vornado fans circulate air better than ceiling fans and make less work for the HVAC system to heat and cool the house. Installation free too.
The warranty on these fans is modest and in my experience [ the 630 is in 12 years use now ] and never needed anyway.
This thing is fantastic.
I live in the desert, where a/c is mandatory and hot spots abound. I can set the a/c to 77, and there will still always be that one hot room that never drops below 82. Ceiling fans help, of course, but at a certain point they're just circulating hot air around rather than pulling in cooler air from elsewhere in the house.
Stick this thing in the doorway, aim it at the corner of the room, and problem solved! You could point it at yourself for a bout of emergency cooling, but this thing really shines as an air circulator. Case in point, the air stream on low is powerful enough to spin my ceiling fan backwards from 20' away.
A week ago, I had to use my ceiling fan on at least medium speed and have a junky little box fan in the doorway, and the room still got warm. Now, though, the box fan is in the garbage where it belongs, my ceiling fan is off, and this little Vornado is handling everything by itself. My room is now SIGNIFICANTLY cooler, much quieter, and I'm using a LOT less power (ceiling fan is about 40W, and the box fan was 76W on low, compared to this Vornado sipping 34W on medium). I honestly could turn my a/c back up a degree if I wanted to.
This is without a doubt the best fan I have ever used. One little thing I need to mention, though: Contrary to what other reviews might make you think, this fan is nowhere near silent. Even on low, it is plainly audible, and on medium it's loud enough to force me to turn the volume up. Don't get me wrong, it is not an unpleasant sound (it's just rushing air, no pitchy motor noise), but it is absolutely not whisper-quiet. The only fan I've ever had that truly was silent was a tower fan, and it was only silent on the lowest speed (every other speed had motor noise). Just FYI, I leave it on medium while I sleep about 10' away, so it's not a bad sound.
Vornado 733 is incredible! I'd never invest in another fan, ever again. Worth every dollar, the best $80 spent in a very long time. This 733 full size vornado replaced five of my new purchases and then kindly returned; 3 window fans, 1 stand up fan, 1 floor fan. True Story! Best fan ever created, genius behind the sceans! I applaud you ;). My sister is hooked and going to invest in this exact fan, Impressive fan she said, I want one!!

High Speed dB 69 , Low Speed dB 55
Summer is here...and despite how much I've dreaded the extremely hot and humid days - the Vornado air circulator is a massive help! I bought two normal fans before and I've had to use both of them at the same time to match to this fan! I guess the technology is just different, but hey. I'm not complaining. We turn this on and it is quite noisy, but I don't mind the white noise anyway. It's pretty expensive, but it's been such a help in the summer that it was definitely worth the buy.
This is my 3rd Vornado Fan.
All the others are still working, but I wanted this one for my 20 X 30 Ft. Livingroom.
When this fan is on in the living room, it will start turning my ceiling fan.
My ceiling is a 15 Ft. high pitch ceiling .
These are Circulating fans. Not meant to be hitting you in the face with the air.
We used it all summer, and it kept not only the living room cooled off, but also
the dinning room, and the kitchen a bit. (I have a open kitchen).
When it got really hot in the late afternoon, we did turn the central air on.
Then at night , turn the central air off, open the windows, turn on the Vornado again,
and it circulated all the hot air out in about a hour, the house was cool..
I have bought other fans that look like the Vornado, but they do not
work like the Vornado does. I have throw the other fans out.
In the bedroom, I put a smaller one on the highboy dresser, Ame it at the wall, and it circulates the whole room.
I turn this fan on Medium.
Its quite
Two thumbs up. This is the only Fan we would buy.
Worth the money. Spent 15 20 dollars at Walmart hoping for the best but to no avail. This is a beast. It does exactly as advertised, which I was skeptical at first (considering this is America propaganda) but glad I spent the money. Saving money on the electricity bill! and a nice breeze when directed into a corner. : D
Bought in September, 2014. Was in continuous use for at least 6 months each year and 24/7 for the last two years. Just died. Buying another one to replace it. Recommended. We also have a full size fan on a stand and several mid-size and small Vornado fans at home and office. They are the top-of-the-line room fan.
I have always liked Vornado fans - they are fantastic products. The only complaint I have about this fab is the non-moving base (which i'm sure is why the fan is less expensive so it's understandable)-the controls are on the back of the fan so if you want to rock it back (like shown in the photo) or aim it straight up, you can't get to the controls - you either have to pick it up or lean it forward. Overall this isn't a deal breaker as the fan itself is a great size and circulates the air better than most of the competition, but it is a bit annoying.
