I Have used a fan for it’s noise to sleep for over eight years now. I have gone threw well over twenty fans in the past eight years. I run a fan non stop for hours until I wake up each and every night. When I travel I take my fan with me as well. I have purchased so many brands and styles. I owned fans that were plastic, metal, standing, floor, expensive, cheap, you name it... I tried most.
I lost yet another fan that I payed top dollar for a few weeks back. It just stoppedworking. Another one bites the dust. I figured check amazon for a fan since it’s winter time and fans at a department store tend to be seasonal... yeah summer.
I bought this fan for two reasons, I needed a fan and this one was the cheapest price I have ever found for this size fan.
For those who don’t like very noisy fans then this fan is not noisy at all. It’s small but not like those tiny desk ones. It swivels up so u can point the airflow towards the ceiling, this is what I do mostly. There is no assembly required, I just took it out of the two boxes it came in and plugged it in.
A week after I bought the first one I decided to buy a second one for my girls room plus the price was so low I figured why not.
Airflow is nice but not crazy.
I truly like metal fans better but this will work for now:)
Update: a year later and both of my fans are still running.
When I saw that many reviews...and such high marks!...for this little fan my jaw dropped. I have been an Amazon customer for nearly 20 years and had never seen anything quite like that for a fan. And under $15.00! AND eligible for free Prime shipping! I was desperate to replace my bedroom fan which died recently. Looked at dozens of offerings, all price ranges and styles, and was beginning to despair of finding a fan I truly felt was right for me. Then I bumped into this listing. Too good to be true? I wondered, but for the price, worth the risk. I am beyond impressed. This little thing really kicks out the air, and for a good bit of distance, too! I also like the small footprint. I am one of those people who "has" to have moving air on my face pretty much all the time; an offshoot of claustrophobia, I think. I also have tinnitus, so I like so-called "white noise". I might wish this fan was just a wee bit louder; it's really quite quiet. But on high it will does fine for sleeping. All the speeds work well and are useful for various times of day/conditions. No clicking, clacking, grinding, scraping or whoppa-whoppa noises. Just the sound of air moving. At night I place it on the floor about 4 feet from my bed and can angle the breeze so it blows on me. Even if I turn my face away to the wall I can still feel the breeze and the air bounces back off the wall so I still get my "air in the face" effect. At this price point, even if this fan dies in a year or so, it will have redeemed itself by the time that unhappy day arrives, and I'll just get another one. Kudos to you, Honeywell and Amazon! Ya done good!
Let's be realistic: when you buy a fan, you want it to move the air. This beauty does it IN SPADES! Even on low, it is still pushing quite a bit of air and does so relatively quietly. I set it up a few feet from my bed thinking it was "enough". Wrong. It's almost too much, and from me, that's saying something. If I lay with my back to it (like I normally would) there is enough wind going past my ears that IT MAKE A SOUND - yes, literally the wind rushing past my ear. And that's on low from 3 feet away! ... Frankly, I LOVE IT! I have had too many little fans that just couldn't live up to the task. But this little jewel does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do. But be advised, it makes noise. Especially on high. This is a FAN! And I am a FAN of this fan!
let me start off by saying this: Before this fan I was sweating enough to get us out of the California drought. With this fan now I am cool as a cucumber I have not drippity drop dropped a single sweat in my room ever since I plopped this puppy on my desk.
BUT..I cannot talk into the fan and distort my voice which really let down my inner 6 year old self.
Still 5 stars, but for those of you looking to distort your voice by speaking into your new beloved table fan, look elsewhere. If the above doesn't apply to you stop reading this nonsense and buy the thing already!
I really can't imagine how anyone could give this little fan less than FIVE stars unless they got a defective one and kept it instead of sending it back so they could be unhappy. I have tried a number of small fans in order to conserve space and none of them can hold a candle to this "little big fan." Yeah, I did that on purpose. First two I ever bought was at Costco about 10 years ago. They served me fine for the living space I resided in at the time. After several years I moved to a much larger space and wanted more of them. Unfortunately Costco no longer carried them, but Amazon did. I bought two more and a year or two later, two more. I believe I have six now and all are still running although one of the oldest ones has developed a little dead spot in the switch. It hasn't really been a problem though, it just takes a little rocking back and forth and it comes on and runs till I shut it off. I've had a number of 18 and 20 inch box fans in my life that neither moved as much air or lasted as long as my oldest of these. If you are looking for a small fan that moves a lot of air then you have found it. The next move is up to you!

Description
The 3 speed Honeywell HT-900 TurboForce Air Circular provides a quiet and efficient means of cooling a surrounding area. The HT-900 is 25% quieter than its competitors and represents a superior selection for those seeking a relatively noiseless experience when it comes to emitting large amounts of cool air. An adjustable fan head is fully capable of pivoting and reaching a 90° angle that can be used for direct cooling or circulating the air. Maximum air distribution is achieved via the inclusion of an Aerodynamic Turbo Design. This fan's small size and efficient output opens a wealth of installation options in the home, office or dorm setting. The availability of three selectable speeds carries the added bonus of potentially reducing energy expenses. The TurboForce Air Circulator Fan can be used for personal or powerful directional cooling.
We have purchased two of these. They work well and the one we have mounted in our small bathroom helps cut down on the heat in that room, which really builds up as it doesn't get air conditioning like the rest of our home. Our bathroom has no exhaust/ventilation fan, and despite using a dehumidifier and Damprid, we still struggle to keep the paint from peeling and the mildew from building up, and this helps to at least keep the air circulating so it doesn't feel stifling like a swamp. It's relatively easy to mount (ours is mounted high on our bathroom wall). We have it set on high at all times and have it plugged into an outlet that is tied to our lights, so when we turn on the bathroom light, it automatically turns on. Like most fans, it's a little noisy--not deafening, but when you're in the bathroom with the fan on, the door closed, and the shower running, it can be hard to hear anything outside the bathroom (which actually helps make showering a more relaxing experience).
The one real issue we had with it is that it's not easy to clean. Over time hanging in our bathroom, it built up so much dust we had to try and find a way to clean it, but there doesn't appear to be a way to take it apart so that you can wipe down the blades. We have purchased two of these (the first from a store, the second from Amazon) as we got so frustrated trying to clean the first one that we just bought a second one to replace it. Thankfully, they're not expensive. We didn't throw out the first one as it still works just fine after two years of use. It's just dirty. We'll probably attempt to tackle it with pipe cleaners when we're feeling a little more patient, and then we'll probably mount it in another room. But it would be ideal if they could make this fan in such a way that it could be pried open for easy cleaning.
Pros
light and easy to move around
ratcheted positions stay put and are easy to direct
stubby "R2D2" like design makes it compact
easy to clean and disassemble, except for the blades
quiet, barely audible at top speed
Cons
low CFM/watt
blades cannot be easily removed for cleaning
need tools for disassembly
Because of its high rating, sale price, and curiosity, I bought this fan for general use. Published specs by Honeywell ~ 350 CFM/ 40 watts and I measured 290 CFM/ 40 watts using a method similar to ISO 14644. Even at best case, this fan delivers 9 CFM/watt. An ordinary 12" table fan does ~ 800-1000 CFM/ 40-50 Watts and cost about $25. The HT 904 design circulates 1/2-1/3 the amount of air with the same power, which is is quite inefficient to run over time.
The fan feels cooler as the swirl pattern guard and short duct in front accelerates and concentrates air into a tube so you get a good draft, while a table fan has no duct, the guard causes lots of turbulent flow and diffuses air in a wide cone, and thus, moves air, with less draft. The HT 904 fan blades are 6" tip to tip, the case creates a duct of 8.25" dia. a typical desk fan has a 12" dia blade in a 15" ductless cage. Finally, many modern 12" table fans design the blades and cage to be quickly disassembled, often with no tools, so thorough cleaning is faster and easier.
Nice, compact size. Had the 15 inch version for thirteen years which finally broke down after much use. But it was a little clonky to keep moving everywhere. So this one's easy to constantly carry here and there. Great to use at my desk or if I need to cool down anywhere in my home, since I have no A/C. The noise isn't loud to me and is as I expected-- quieter than my old larger one, obviously. One reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is because this isn't as powerful as I would have liked at the highest setting, but it works at cooling me down. Good enough.
Great table-top or wall-mountable fan. It's quiet, small & powerful. Seems to move as much air as my box fan. Purchased a 3M air filter (flat, not pleated) & cut to size of back of fan. It clings to back of fan when on & keeps fan & air clean. Noticeable reduction in allergy symptoms. Also, I continually run a box fan in my basement with a 20X20 size 1900 MPR, MERV12 Filtrete filter attached to back with small 4 inch piece of clear packing tape on the top (it naturally clings to back of fan when on). It's essentially a cost-effective and incredibly effective air purifier - replace filter every 3-6 months. Search "air purifier for 25" on youtube. If you use a fan of any sort, you might as well clean the air at the same time, right?
Perfect little fan, powerful little thing! I like to have it front of my air conditioner to help circulate the cool air better. A steal for the price! I highly recommend this little fan to everyone. I'm going to purchase a second one to have on my desk at work.
