I have been using this mini AC unit for several weeks now and I feel I have2 helpful bits of advice. Number one follow the manufacturer's recommendation that you start the AC unit early in the morning before it starts to get hot, rather than waiting until you're uncomfortable and then turn it on. I have played with this quite a bit and for some reason if I start the AC unit when it's like 84 degrees I can never get the place comfortable. But if I start early it's smooth sailing all day long. Number two. The exhaust hose heats up. A lot! This trick has lowered the temperature in the area at least 10 degrees. Go to Dollar Tree and get the cheap silver reflective things that you put in the car window. You want the cheap ones because it's almost like a fabric and not cardboard like the good ones. Turn it inside out so that the silver shiny side faces the hose and the outside is the white fabric. Secure with duct tape . This will keep all of the heat inside the exhaust hose, which will get blown out side rather than heating up the room in the area where your unit is. Overall I'm very happy with it it's a small footprint and I feel compared to other portable air conditioners it's very quiet

Very easy to use for older person with breathing issues. It came in very useful on humid days. Father in law needed A/C for humid days . Kept him out of the hospital.
Unit had all the features I wanted in a truly"Compact" size. My odd window shape was a major concern. Made for easy installation thanks to the multi-postion collars and vents. This baby installed in 15 minutes! Quality product! I love it!
Perfect size - love the black color and very efficient cooling for upstairs office. I installed it by myself!

I purchased this machine about a month ago and am pleased so far with my purchase. This is my third portable AC (all that I purchased have been Edgestars) and this one is the quietest of the three to operate, so I really am pleased with the noise level on this unit. I hardly hear it when watching TV. I am also pleased with the connecting hose/window connection, as this is the thinnest of the three connection pieces and so you have almost all of the window with the hose connection blocking the view. Finally, I love how easy this is to push around--I have another unit that is the same weight and I hurt my back just pushing it from room to room. This one is quite easy to move from room to room. As for how well it works, it does not instantaneously cool, which means you can't turn it on and immediately cool down a hot room, but I've used it in both an exercise room and a large living room that is connected to an open second large room and kitchen, and it can cool the hot exercise room perfectly to exercise in if I turn it on about an hour to 2 hours in advance of working out. I've used it in the large open space that far exceeds the dimensions of a room you are supposed to put it in, and even in 95 degree weather I have been able to stay comfortable with the assistance of the AC, although I could not get the temp lower in those conditions than 76. Still, that far exceeds the performance promised by the company, and I was surprised it was not colder than what I measured with a temp gauge. I wish they would make a slightly higher BTU unit that was just this size. The 70-80 lb machines are really tough to push around. I also wish the company would be more specific about the energy efficiency of this unit, since no one seems to know what it is, and I do have central air, so I am using this machine in an attempt to cut my electric bill while staying cool. So far, though, this was a good purchase for the reasons mentioned above.
Does an excellent job. Especially appreciate the dry function which removes moisture from the air in humid conditions in my home.
